Angry residents burn police station in Kisii county after officer allegedly shot and killed businessman over sanitizer

Angry residents in Kisii county have burnt a police station after a police officer allegedly killed a businessman.

According to reports, the irate residents rioted and burnt Rioma Police Station accusing an officer at the station of shooting and killing a local businessman for not wearing a mask or having a hand sanitizer.

Residents said the officer accused of the shooting was seen in the company of the late businessman just few hours before the incident.

With the riots from enraged residents, more police officers were deployed from Kisii Central to calm the heated situation.

Locals demanded justice for the slain businessman, they also called for the end of police brutality and senseless killings by police officers.
