According to a Mandera resident on social media by the name Naszir, a fundraiser has been launched to help the family of the drowned man.

”While the search continues and we pray to God that his body will be found, I once again bring to your attention that our brother Yussuf left his heavy wife who is about to deliver and a toddler, his family was feeding on his daily hustle and today have no one to reach out for,” Naszir posted.

The fundraiser to help the family is targeting KSh 50k but currently have raised about KSh 30k.

Its now four days since he drowned and the body yet to be recovered, his family is concerned about his pregnant wife who is due to deliver soon but has no one to help her.

”The target is 50k before we deliver to the family in sha Allah, kindly reach us out on 0725477770, no amount is too little. May Allah bless you, keep it coming,” concerned resident posted on Facebook.

In the last few months, river Dawa has claimed several lives as hit broke its banks following heavy rains in the Ethiopian highlands.
